  • Creating a new menu item in an existing menu
  • Every menu item must point to something, so the first thing is to create the article (page)
  • Now go to the menu in which you want to add the new menu item.
  • Create the new menu item and point it to the article that you just created.
  • The new menu item will now display in the target menu and when clicked will display your new page. The new page does not have any menus on it yet unless some other menu modules are selected for all pages. Whichever modules are selected for "all" pages will always appear automatically on any new pages as well.
  • If you need to place menus on the new page, goto the menu manager and from the type filter select "mod_mainmenu". Now select the module named for the menu. (That should be the case, but not always, it depends who does the naming and if they're consistent).
  • This what I do when I create a new menu : Fill in all the fields, with the last : "Module Title" being the field that defines the module name for the new menu you are creating. I always name this the same as the menu so you always know which module displays which menu.
  • Creating a new menu
  • Every menu, to be displayed, must have an associated module that does the work of displaying the menu and menu items (links)
  • Go to menu manager and click the new button
  • A form with four fields should appear:
  • Unique Name:
  • Title:
  • Description:
  • Module Title:
  • The Unique Name is used by the module to identify which menu it is responsible for
  • Title will be the title displayed if "show title" is chosen
  • Description is up to the user
  • Module Title is used to name the mod_mainmenu module. The value of this field should ideally be the same as the unique name.
